VILLAGE WALK IN SZILVÁSVÁRAD

Starting from the Local Government building
Location of the old village, surviving masterpieces of peasant architecture, explaining traditional arrangement of sites, developments through the ages, the impacts and results of renovations. Opportunity to look at the exhibition of the Orban House.
Reformed Round Temple
Introducing Europe’s largest Reformed Round Temple, experiencing the great acoustics of the place. Showing one of the oldest bells of Szilvásvárad called the Szilvásvárad Old Bell.
The castle and the park
Seeing the castle once owned by Keglevich – Erdődi – Wessely – Pallavicini from the outside, and looking at the castle park that has many types of special trees and which is registered as the largest urban protected area of Heves County.
Lipizzaner museum complex
The museum established in the barn of the castle tells the story of the Lipizzaner horse, with the stallion barn and a symbolic horse cemetery. A Carriage Museum is operated at the National Stud Farm.
Countess path
Showing the archaeological sites that are visible from this higher area, and explaining the stories related to the sites. Visiting the archery course.
Returning
On the way back, there is an opportunity to visit the rock collection at the beginning of the trail, the equestrian arena as archaeological site, the memorial place called Gallows Bottom and the wax museum. Finally, we return to our starting point.
